A hand-held manual surgical instrument designed to apply small atraumatic clips (not included) for the ligation of blood vessels, or similar tubular anatomy, mainly to prevent and/or stop bleeding (i.e., haemostasis) during an open-surgery procedure. It may also be used to apply small clamps (e.g., bulldog type) to tissues however it is not intended to apply an aneurysm clip. The device is typically a metallic instrument with flat, curved ends to hold and deliver the clips (e.g., forceps-like); implantable clips are not included. This is a reusable device after sterilization.

It is typically made of metal and is available in various designs and sizes, and some types can have carbide inserts along the cutting edges. This is a reusable device.

A hand-held, manual, open-surgery instrument designed to grasp, manipulate, dissect, and/or clamp soft-tissues (e.g., organs, blood vessels); it is not intended for grasping/clamping bone or teeth, nor is it dedicated to ophthalmic surgery and is not a dedicated biopsy device. It has a scissors-like hinged design with ring handles and blades (non-cutting) that may be available in a range of sizes or designs. It may be intended for use at a specific anatomy. This is a reusable device intended to be sterilized prior to use.
